Note: This map was reviewed and published several months ago, and received a 10 for game play, but it appears that is was lost when Tamec had major server problems, so I am submitting this map again. Also note that I have decreased gravity from the original as that seemed to be the only complaint from the reviewer. It is still higher than default to keep long range weapons from reaching across the map.

I decided to use the name I have played TA and Quake 3 under for probably at least a year and a half now, so all of my Anti Rushya series are designed by the same person, but just under different names I have used over the years.

I presently have 5 published metal maps under the Anti Rushya series. To view or download these maps on Tamec, go to TA maps, metal worlds, and sort by name. All 5 will be together.

Note: This map is shipped with a custom version of Queller Ai by Quitch(y) that I have modified it for this map and is the same Ai used in Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught. There is a ufo map file and an hpi Ai file contained in the zip file. BOTH FILES MUST BE INSTALLED in "cavedog\totala" folder for the map and Ai to work. I have also included the totala.ini file if you don't have it installed. This file will increase unit count to 500. Install in cavedog\totala folder also. (If you don't already have it)

I have watched the number of downloads maps have received for over 2 years now, and find it interesting that many of the old simpler designed maps are still receiving pretty regular interest. My original 2 Anti Rushya maps, (Anti Rushya (near 6000 downloads) and Anti Rushya 22 still receive a fair amount of downloads every week. With this in mind, I set out to design a metal map using only Cavedogs tile set, and with the idea of designing a map that would be fun and challenging, but not requiring a great deal of time to finish a game.

Anti Rushya East vs West is designed for a fairly quick 1 on 1, or 2 on 2, for both skirmish and multiplayer. This map uses the same Ai that is found in my Anti Rushya Hills Onslaught map, (install the hpi file in your totala directory) so if you have already installed the Ai from that map, you won't need to install it again.

I have tested this map in a multiplayer skirmish teamed with another player against 2 teamed computer opponents. It is possible to beat it without using nukes and makes for a fun interesting game. Since the Ai doesn't use reason, it doesn't use the offensive or defensive options that real players use, and are much more predictable.

The layout of the map and forts offer several options for both offense and defense, and can provide a challenging multiplayer game with real players. Anti Rushya East vs West is designed for 1 on 1 battles or teams of 2 on 2, since players will start in the same base. (Team positions 1 and 3; and 2 and 4) A flash rush is an option, but defending against the rush is also farily easy do the the map design.

Wind is moderate on this map making wind generators an efficient option for cost.

Suggested setting for a game are:

For teams use fixed positions (use whatever you prefer for 1 on 1)
I prefer commander continues
unmapped
true line of sight
difficultiy to hard
unit count 500
1000 starting energy and metal (the Ai works well with this)

It has starting positions for up to 4 players as follows:

# 1 - top left
# 2 - bottom right
# 3 - bottom left
# 4 - top right
